Hi, I’m Maria Laura Murgia, founder of Gentle Paws.

Originally from Alghero, Sardinia (Italy), I have been living in Canada since 2018 and I am currently based in Kelowna, British Columbia.

I hold a diploma in Early Childhood Education and Special Needs Education, with additional training in Montessori pedagogy and animal-assisted approaches (with guinea pigs).

Through my professional experience with children and their diverse learning needs, I have developed a gentle, nature-based approach that encourages empathy, observation, and meaningful connection with animals.

I hold a Continuing Education Certificate in AAI 2 (Animal-Assisted Interventions) through the University of Michigan, and I am currently continuing my studies in Animal-Assisted Services through Dreamcatcher of Alberta Academy.
