What to Expect During an Animal-Assisted Activity

Flexible, caring support for your child

Whether it’s a few hours during the day or an evening out, I provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment planned for your family’s needs.

In both situations, children are engaged in calm, guided pedagogical activities and regular breaks, following a relaxed and respectful routine.

Great attention is given to the wellbeing and needs of both the child and animal.

The animal is always allowed to take breaks, rest, or withdraw when needed, and children are encouraged to observe and respect these moments.

Similarly, children’s needs for rest, movement, quiet time, or engagement are respected throughout the session.

Sessions follow a flexible and calm routine, which may include:

 

• Gentle and supervised interaction with the animal

• Observation of the animal’s natural behaviour

• Simple sensory activities in the presence of the animal

• Animal-themed story time

• Regular breaks for both participants and the animal

• Time to rest and have a snack or meal, as needed

• Activities adapted to the child’s interests, energy level, and comfort

• Creative activities such as painting and drawing inspired by animals, reading fun animal stories, and exploring animal-themed arts and playdough

• Outdoor sessions with the animal during suitable weather
